Norton Twin Parts & Spares
Norton’s pushrod twin was built for a quarter of a century and grew from 497cc to 828cc without ever being replaced, so a Dominator, an Atlas and a Commando have far more in common under the covers than their frames suggest. The parts that carry across the range are gathered here.
Obsolete Bike Parts holds gear sets and individual gearbox gears, tappets, cylinder barrels supplied with matched piston sets, head and decoke gaskets, side covers and panels, electronic ignition and the workshop tools these engines ask for. Where a part suits one model alone, it stays on that model’s page.

Dominator, Atlas or Commando?
The engine ran from the 497cc Dominator 88 through the 596cc 99, the 646cc 650SS and the 745cc Atlas to the Commando in 745cc and 828cc form. Bore and stroke decide the top end, so barrels, pistons and head gaskets follow capacity rather than model name. The chassis is the other dividing line, because the Featherbed-framed twins and the rubber-mounted Commando share almost nothing from the frame outwards. Gearbox internals travel furthest of the lot, since the AMC box stayed in service from the late fifties right through to the Commando.
Parts that cross the range

- Top end: tappets, cylinder barrels supplied with matched piston sets, head and decoke gaskets
- Ignition: electronic ignition units and their fittings
- Bodywork: side covers and panels
- Tools: clutch and timing pinion extractors

Capacity, frame type and the gearbox number get you to the right part faster than the model name does. Send all three and we will confirm the fit.
