Universal Classic Parts

Parts That Are Not Tied to One Model

Not every component on a classic belongs to a single machine. Handlebars, mirrors, headlamp brackets, number plates, chain tensioners, carburettor float fittings and oils were fitted across makes and are still made to a pattern rather than to one part number. Those items live here instead of under a brand, so you can find them without first working out which model they came off.

The range runs from consumables such as running-in and classic-grade engine oil to cafe racer and special-build hardware, with a separate subcategory for the small fasteners and fittings that every rebuild eats. Shipped worldwide from our workshop in the Netherlands.

What counts as universal?

A part sits here when it was built to suit a range of machines rather than one model: bar end and stem mirrors, chrome headlamp brackets, seven-eighths handlebars complete with levers, universal seats and rear chain tensioners, front number plates, and fork and carburettor fittings made to a common pattern. Some are period accessories, some are current production to an old drawing, and the listing says which. Sizes still decide the fit, so check bar diameter, thread and mounting centres against the bike before you order.

What you will find here

  • Controls and cockpit: handlebars, levers, mirrors, headlamp brackets
  • Oils and consumables: classic-grade and running-in engine oil
  • Special builds: cafe racer and motocross hardware, universal seats, number plates
  • Fittings: carburettor float bowl parts, chain tensioners, fork components
  • Small parts: washers, springs, adjusters and fasteners, in their own subcategory

Not sure it will fit?

Universal means it suits many machines, not all of them. Send us the measurement that matters, with a photograph of the mounting if you have one, and we will check it against the item before you order rather than after.
