Yamaha Moped Parts & Spares
The 50cc Yamahas were bought to be used up, not looked after, so the ones still running have usually been kept going on whatever came to hand. That is the real job on a moped restoration: putting the correct parts back where a previous owner fitted something that merely fitted.
We hold the wearing parts these machines get through, from top end components and gaskets to cables, brake parts and electrical items. None of it is glamorous, but it is what keeps a fifty on the road, and it is the stock that disappears first from general suppliers.
Which 50 do you have?
Yamaha‘s mopeds were sold under different model codes in different markets, and pedal-equipped versions, restricted versions and full learner machines can look almost identical while differing in gearing, carburation and ignition. Add decades of swapped engines and mixed parts and the badge on the side panel proves very little. The frame and engine numbers are the reliable way to place yours, and they are worth finding before you order rather than after.
What we stock
- Top end — pistons and rings, gaskets, seals and small end parts
- Ignition and electrics — coils and ignition components, lighting, wiring
- Transmission — clutch parts, sprockets and chains
- Controls — throttle and brake cables, levers, grips
- Chassis — brake shoes and springs, wheel parts, tyres and tubes
Sizes and variants
Bore sizes on these engines are often no longer standard, because a 50 that has been rebuilt twice has usually been taken out twice. Measure the barrel and the piston you removed and send us both figures with your engine number, rather than ordering to the size the model left the factory with. The same applies to brake shoes and sprockets, where a previous owner may well have fitted whatever was available at the time.
