Classic Motorcycle Manuals & Parts Books

A parts book is the cheapest tool in the workshop and often the one that saves the most time. Before you can order a component you have to be able to name it, and an exploded diagram carrying the factory’s own numbering does that far faster than describing a shape in an email.

This category gathers the workshop manuals, factory parts lists and owner’s handbooks we hold for the machines in our catalogue, in original printings where we still have them and in reprints where the originals ran out long ago.

Manual, parts book or handbook?

They do different jobs and most workshops end up wanting two of them. A workshop manual tells you how to dismantle and reassemble, with clearances, torque figures and settings. A factory parts list gives you exploded drawings and original part numbers, which is what you want open in front of you when you are ordering. An owner’s handbook covers routine servicing and little else. Aftermarket titles cover several models in one volume and are usually the practical choice for a machine in use, while factory literature is what a restorer wants.
