Classic Yamaha Parts & Spares

Dealer supply for older Yamahas dried up long before the bikes did. What runs out first is rarely the big stuff: it is the switchgear, the cables, the clutch plates and the small chassis hardware that nobody reproduced in volume. That is the end of the catalogue we work in.

This page gathers the Yamaha stock we hold at Obsolete Bike Parts, sourced from old dealer inventory and from reproduction makers whose work we have used ourselves. If you cannot see the part on the page, it is worth asking, because not everything on the shelf is listed yet.

Start with the model code

Yamaha identified machines by a model code stamped on the headstock and on the crankcase, and two bikes that look identical in photographs can carry different codes because they were built for different markets. The model name alone will not settle a fitment question. The code and the frame number will, so read them off the bike before you order rather than working from what the previous owner called it.

What we hold

  • Engine — pistons and rings, gaskets and seals, bearings and bushes
  • Transmission — clutch plates and springs, gearbox components, sprockets and chains
  • Electrics — ignition and charging parts, switchgear, bulbs and lighting components
  • Controls — throttle, clutch and brake cables, levers and handlebar fittings
  • Cycle parts — brake components, fork and shock parts, fasteners and trim

Send us the numbers

Give us the model code, the frame number and a photograph of the old part, with a measurement across whatever matters most: a shaft diameter, a bolt spacing, a cable length. That combination answers most questions in one message, and it saves the round of guessing that a model name on its own always starts.
