Norton Singles Parts & Spares
Norton built single-cylinder machines for far longer than it built twins, and the range splits cleanly in two: the side-valve engines of the 16H and Big 4, and the overhead-valve Model 18, Model 19, Model 50 and ES2. Within each group the basic architecture changed slowly, which is why a component that looks specific to one model often serves several.
This page gathers what we hold that suits more than one Norton single, from engine internals through to the cycle parts and fittings the range had in common.
Which single is on the bench?
Three questions narrow it down faster than a model name does. Is the engine side-valve or overhead-valve? Does the frame carry girder forks or Roadholder telescopics? And is the rear end rigid, plunger or swinging-arm? Those answers decide the fork parts, the wheel and brake components and a good deal of the ancillary hardware. They are worth settling first, because Norton kept model names running across substantial redesigns and the name alone will not tell you what the machine takes.

Anything we can pin to one machine is listed under that model rather than here. If nothing on this page matches, look under the individual model before concluding we do not hold it.
